Fort Worth El Fenix feeds homeless

Our EMS family is still searching for the best Mexican restaurant near me. Around the holidays, companies like to get charitable. We like the point out the restaurants that like to be charitable. Of course we would prefer this Mexican restaurant to be charitable throughout the year, but everyone has to start somewhere.

What Mexican restaurant are we talking about? The El Fenix in Fort Worth, Texas took it to heart to give back to the community with lunch at one of the local shelters. The homeless were served tacos,
enchiladas, rice, beans, and salsa. A charitable
meal indeed. I would have loved to top it off with
a sweet tamale for the holiday season.

So how is the food at El Fenix? The Mexican food is decent but nothing really to write home about. I hate to say it but I would suggest another Tex-Mex restaurant to friends and family members. What was the major problem with the meal? Salt and lack of salt.

  • The rice was bland even though it had red sauce on it
  • The taco was actually good
  • The enchilada red sauce was just too salty for the meal
Unfortunately, bland food and salty food just don't go well together. The salt overpowers everything. Though I wouldn't call this an honest review of El Fenix Mexican Restaurant. We only had two items. We are looking forward to reviewing more items at the El Fenix restaurant near me.
